Special Focus: Design Thinking & Entrepreneurship Workshop

In this workshop, youth will learn about:

- The principles of design thinking: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test
- How to identify and solve community challenges through creative problem-solving
- The fundamentals of entrepreneurship and how to turn ideas into actionable plans
- Understanding the importance of sustainability and social impact in entrepreneurial ventures

Key highlights:

- Empathy Mapping Exercise: Participants interact with case studies or real-life scenarios to understand user needs
- Prototyping and Testing: Hands-on session where participants build low-cost prototypes of their solutions
- Pitch Your Idea: A fun, team-based presentation challenge to pitch innovative solutions to real-world problems
- Collaboration with Mentors: Guidance from facilitators to refine ideas and learn practical entrepreneurial skills
- Creative Reflection Games: Interactive activities to foster innovation and teamwork
- Projects with merit will be refered to our partners for funding to make it happen

Glass Upcycling

In this workshop, youth will learn about:

- The environmental impact of glass waste and the importance of upcycling
- Safe handling techniques for glass cutting and upcycling
- Creative ways to give new life to glass bottles by turning them into usable items *on the picture on the left, the candle is made in our sustainable living workshops!

Key highlights:

- Hands-on session where participants learn to safely cut glass bottles into usable items like cups or planters
-Sanding and polishing for smooth edges for safety and aesthetics
- Tie in with our sustainable living workshop(s), where participants can use paints, stickers, or etching techniques to personalize the upcycled item + make them into other goods like candles
